When one of the world’s biggest football club comes knocking on your door, asking whether you can develop a unique suitcase set for their fans, then you know it is time to start the warming up.
What was the question?
Bayern’s briefing was short and to the point: “create an exclusive suitcase set that suits the allure of our great club and make sure that we can present this set to the fans on Bayern’s first home match in the next UEFA Champions League season.”
What did we do?
Our account team sat down to discuss how to tackle this assignment together with the customer, the creative people of our design studio and our production manager. We really wanted to go full-out on this one. The first proposals were on our client’s desk in Munich within one week, including sketches of each detail. From the shape, the logo on the front, the subtle decoration of the inner lining and the personalized zipper pullers to the iconic club motto, ‘Mia San Mia’.
What was the result?
We really scored a hattrick then, to use a fitting expression. Bayern Munich was truly impressed by our creativity and the many options we offered them. After a few more correction rounds, the production eventually got underway almost nine weeks before the first Champions League home game. That’s when it really pays off to have all the procurement and production processes in our own hands. One week before the kick-off, all the suitcases were neatly delivered to Bayern’s doorstep.
